TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

A single tourist sitting in front of Cambodia’s Pyramid temple, Koh Ker
Marvel at Cambodia’s Pyramid temple
Step into Cambodia's mysterious past at Koh Ker's remarkable Pyramid temple, a hidden archaeological wonder rising seven tiers above the jungle canopy. This optional extension to your small-group Kulen Mountain Tour takes you to Prasat Thom, where you can climb the ancient stone steps for breathtaking panoramic vistas of the surrounding wilderness. Built in the 10th century as the short-lived Khmer capital, Koh Ker remains one of Cambodia's least visited temple sites, offering an intimate encounter with history far from tourist crowds.
The Best Angkor Sunrise Tour Guide!
Your Angkor Wat Sunrise Tour features expert English-speaking guides who have spent decades studying Cambodian history and culture. These specialists don't just recite facts but share stories that bring ancient Khmer civilization alive at every temple. They'll explain thousand-year-old carvings, share local legends passed through generations, and answer every question about Buddhist symbolism or temple architecture. Small group sizes mean personal attention and time for conversations that transform your visit into genuine education.

Itinerary

Travel throughout Cambodia with your guide in an air-conditioned van, with stops along the way to various historical sites and temples. Be picked up from your hotel at 5 AM or 6 AM and travel to the north of Cambodia. Once you arrive near the Thai border, see Preah Vihear, the most spectacular mountain temple in Cambodia. Learn from your guide how the World Heritage Site was built in the 11th century during the Khmer Empire. Explore the cliff it's located on top of in the Dângrêk Mountains, and take in the lush forest below it. See captivating views of the countryside, and the temple in its distance.

Next, stop for lunch on the way to the Koh Ker archaeological site before continuing on to Chok Gargyar, another ancient Khmer city. Finally, you'll reach the much-anticipated visit to the historical city, Chok Gargyar. See three spectacular temples in Koh Ker's archaeological site, including Prasat Thom (the Pyramid temple), Prasat Kroes Linga, and Prasat Prum temple.

Contine to Beng Melea, the mysterious 12th-century temple in the middle of the jungle. This temple is heavily overgrown with vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses. This temple is surrounded by a rainforest due to it being abundant for over 300 years. When it is not fully restored, many local and international tourists fall in love with the area. Return to Siem Reap city.
