Explore the ancient temple of Angkor Wat at sunrise, then discover the jungle temple of Ta Prohm and Ta Nei on a guided tour by jeep. This half-day jeep tour is for the early risers - see Ankor Wat reflected on the surface of its by the sunrise. It's an early start with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel as you head straight to Angkor Wat for sunrise. Don’t forget your camera to snap an iconic sunrise at Angkor Wat photo that will make the early alarm call worth it. We'll spend around 1.5 hours exploring Angkor Wat after sunrise, with your guide explaining the cultural importance of the ancient site. The enormous Buddhist temple is the largest religious monument in the world, and dates back to the 12th-century.
Next, you’ll stop for a short break to enjoy a authentic breakfast at a local restaurant. Enjoy a real Cambodian breakfast of Khmer noodle soup with traditional desserts such as palm cake and steam rice dumplings with palm sugar.
After breakfast, return to the jeep and continue your tour at the jungle temples of Ta Prohm and Ta Nei. Still in their original state the jungle is reclaiming the complex as plants, vines and huge roots take over the site. Fans of 2001 film “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” will find the place familiar.
Before the jeep returns you to your hotel, we drive you to one of Cambodia's jewels, the impressive Angkor Thom, which was the fortified "Great Royal City" built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. At the South Gate, we can see the imposing statue of Avalokiteshvara, which appears in the Tomb Raider movie. Next visit is Bayon temple, in Buddhist style and adorned with hundreds of faces made of stone, and also explore the Terrace of Elephants, former Royal Palace, Phimeanakas, Terrace of Leper King, and Baphoun temple, It is considered the largest Hindu temple in Angkor Thom city.
Transfer you back to your hotel or city center for your lunch.
