Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:00 am and head directly to purchase the Angkor pass. Afterward, we'll visit one of Cambodia's jewels, the impressive Angkor Thom - the fortified "Great Royal City" built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. At the South Gate, we can see the imposing statue of Avalokiteshvara, which appeared in the Tomb Raider movie.

Next, we'll explore the Bayon temple, a Buddhist-style structure adorned with hundreds of stone faces. We'll also visit the Terrace of Elephants, the former Royal Palace, Phimeanakas, the Terrace of Leper King, and the Baphoun temple, considered the largest Hindu temple in Angkor Thom.

Then, we'll drive to Ta Prohm temple, which has been left in its original state and is partly overgrown with trees and huge roots. This temple was used as a backdrop for the film Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie. Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we'll visit the fascinating Angkor Wat, the largest sacred building on the planet and an icon of the Khmer civilization. Explore Angkor Wat before the crowds arrive and capture some amazing photographs. Then, we'll climb to the top of Phnom Bakheng to witness the stunning sunset before transferring you back to your hotel.

You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:00 am via a private air-conditioned vehicle to visit Banteay Srei, known as the "Ladies' Temple", and the jungle temple of Beng Mealea. After exploring these sites, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Cambodian cuisine.

Next, we'll head directly to see the two main temples of the Rolous Group: Bakong temple and Lolei temple. From there, we'll continue to Kampong Phluk, a flooded fishing village on the Tonle Sap lake, located just 21 kilometers from Siem Reap town.

Once at the lake port, we'll take a local boat to explore the famous floating villages of Kampong Phluk. Here, you can witness firsthand the everyday life of the many families who rely primarily on fishing for their livelihoods. Most families live on the lake shore in brightly colored houses built on long poles, so high water levels during the rainy season are not a problem.

Discover the flooded mangrove forest surrounding the area, which is home to a variety of species, including crab-eating macaques and over 3,000 inhabitants. Finally, we'll visit a Buddhist monastery built on an artificial island before returning you to your hotel in Siem Reap.

We depart the hotel at 4:40 am to witness the magnificent sunrise over Angkor Wat, a truly unforgettable experience. Embrace the breathtaking golden hues as the sun paints the sky above the majestic temple, enhanced by a cloudy backdrop. Enjoy breakfast at a local family restaurant in Siem Reap, then experience rural life at Preah Dak village near the Angkor temple complex and taste traditional palm cake.

Afterward, we'll visit other beautiful Angkor temples, including Pre Rup, Preah Khan, Neak Pean, East Mebon, and Banteay Kdey temple. Finally, we'll drop you back at your hotel.

Know before you go

  • Angkor pass of 3 days ($62 per person) is not included. We require all participants to have an Angkor temple pass before the start of the tour. This is to ensure that you will not miss the beautiful parts at Angkor. You can purchase your pass via online.
  • Dress code: All visitors are not allowed to wear as shorts as you want for the Angkor temple’s visit. Please make sure that your knees and shoulders are covered.
  • The end of March to the end of June is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.
