Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:00 am and head directly to purchase the Angkor pass. Afterward, we head to one of Cambodia's jewels, the impressive Angkor Thom, which was the fortified "Great Royal City" built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. At the South Gate, we can see the imposing statue of Avalokiteshvara, which appears in the Tomb Raider movie. Next visit is Bayon temple, in Buddhist style and adorned with hundreds of faces made of stone, and also explore the Terrace of Elephants, former Royal Palace, Phimeanakas, Terrace of Leper King, and Baphoun temple, It is considered the largest Hindu temple in Angkor Thom city.

Then, we drive to Ta Prohm temple, which has been left in its original state and is partly overgrown with trees and huge roots. It was also used as a backdrop for the film Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie.

Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant cooked by local chief and then visit the most authentic village of Phum Preah Dak, where you can learn how the local people make palm cake and palm sugar.

In the afternoon, start to visit to the fascinating Angkor Wat, the largest sacred building on the planet and an icon of the Khmer civilization. It was built by King Suyavarman and is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It contains hundreds of decorations that cover the walls and the longest bas-relief in the world. It is surrounded by a giant moat, and its five towers are part of the Cambodian flag, and from the top you can see the impressive and dense jungle. Climb up mountain of the Phnom Bakheng for sunset and then transfer you back to your hotel.

You'll be picked up from your hotel lobby at 4:40 am and continue to the watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat temple. Enjoy breakfast and support at a local family restaurant in Siem Reap. Experience rural life at Preah Dak village near the countryside community of Angkor temples and taste the traditional palm cake.

Then continue to visit the most beautiful temples outside city of Angkor Thom like Preah Khan temple, Neak Pean temple, Ta Som temple, East Mebon temple, Pre Rup temple and take a lunch break.

In the early afternoon, drive to the intricately carved and well-preserved temple of Banteay Srei – the detailed reliefs on this smaller sandstone structure are regarded as the finest and most skillfully crafted in the kingdom of Cambodia and discover the fishing village of Kampong Phluk on a local boat tour. See the hustle and bustle of the local market and sail past floating houses on the Tonle Sap Lake and transfer you back to your hotel.

Know before you go

  • Angkor pass of 2 days ($62 per person) is not included. We require all participants to have an Angkor temple pass before the start of the tour. This is to ensure that you will not miss the beautiful parts at Angkor. You can purchase your pass via online.
  • Dress code: All visitors are not allowed to wear as shorts as you want for the Angkor temple’s visit. Please make sure that your knees and shoulders are covered.
  • The end of March to the end of June is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.
