Pickup from your hotel in Siem Reap starts between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM. Arrive at Angkor Wat in time for sunrise and spend about 1.5 hours at the temple. Walk through the main areas with your guide and take photos before the larger groups arrive.
After sunrise, have breakfast at a local family restaurant. Continue to Preah Dak village for palm cake tasting and a look at village daily routines. Visit Ta Prohm, where giant roots spread over old temple walls. Enter Angkor Thom through the South Gate, then visit Bayon, Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King. Return to your hotel at about 1:00 PM.
Pickup starts at 7:30 AM. Begin with a stop in Preah Dak village to see palm cake making. Head to Banteay Srei, known for its pink sandstone and fine carvings. From there, go to Phnom Kulen, a sacred mountain linked to the start of the Khmer Empire in AD 802.
At Kulen Mountain, visit Poeng Ta Kho, the waterfalls, the reclining Buddha, and the River of 1000 Lingas. Receive a monk water blessing and enjoy a picnic lunch with grilled chicken, fresh fruit, and time for a swim. End the day at Beng Mealea, a large temple site from the 12th century, with fallen stones, tree growth, and Hindu and Buddhist images. Return to your hotel at about 5:30 PM.
